Creating Colors and Patterns with Distress Oxides, Leading Ladies & Sandy Allnock

Posted

Did you know that you can combine Distress Oxide inks to create new colors? Check out how Sandy created colors while stamping patterns for the new Leading Ladies (coming soon on Sunday, June 10th)!

I'm Sandy Allnock. And I'm addicted to coloring backgrounds!

I feel like I need a Colorers Anonymous group! Especially when it comes to the Leading Ladies - they kinda cry out to me, begging for background scenes to go with them! The June release, coming up on Sunday, is no exception...yowsa, there are THREE new ladies! Plus a Pattern Play set - which goes really well with the clothing that can now be decorated by cool stamping techniques!

In today's video, I'm sharing some tips you can use with Pattern Play using Distress Oxide inks; I only used Fossilized AmberPeacock Feathers, and Picked Raspberry, applying the ink in a soft fashion using the round ink blending tool....that lets more of the color blend lightly together! Watch the video below.

Each of the cards below has one of the patterns used for their clothing. As for the backgrounds - stay tuned right here on Sunday for this background with Beach Lady:

And also on Sunday - I'll have City Lady on my blog and YT channel, showing how to make a flower shop background for her...

The Woodsy Lady background took me a long while - so I didn't end up shooting video of it. But a bunch of the techniques have been done before on my YT channel in parts, so you might figure out some of it if you're an avid watcher.

Hope this wets your appetite for the Sunday release - so much fun is coming up!
