It's light weight, inexpensive, and fits snugly against even thin cardstock. I like that it's thin and light weight because I only use it for lining up paper pieces and making marks with pencil. It's for light use (not a drafting tool) I looked all over for a T ruler in craft stores and couldn't find one. Then I went to Jennifer McGuire's blog and found the one she uses. I live close to Ellen Hutson's office so I found her price the best (better than Amazon) since I pick up my purchases! So thanks Ellen for stocking the T-ruler
