Meet The Maker - Alexandra Stapleton-Smith

Meet Alexandra Stapleton-Smith
Alexandra Stapleton-Smith
Alexandra loves crafting because...

I started crafting over 15 years ago and have tried everything from silk painting to porcelain dolls making; but card making just felt right! I love that you can make a quick and easy project or spend a few hours on a complex technique or home decor project. There are so many mediums and techniques to explore you can never get bored!

Alexandra finds inspiration...

Everywhere! I love reading magazines and looking at the latest trends, browsing stores, walking in national forest or just playing around with my supplies. I also had a lot of other blogs. Sometimes I will see a crafters use a technique and it will inspire with another stamp set or set of supplies I own to go and try something which completely changes into another look or technique.

Alexandra's favorite products...

I love this machine, no hand cranking, it cuts every die perfectly, every time! Anytime a crafter asks me which die cutter to buy I always say the Gemini Jr without a moments thought!

It’s one tool every crafter needs, I can’t think of a craft or DIY project I didn’t use this mighty tool in!

This surface was life changing, there are so many techniques you can do with this surface, you can every smoosh alcohol inks for rainbow effects, its amazing!

These scissors cut EVERYTHING, and I’m not kidding, I have them in the kitchen, craft room, for my sewing, in my bathroom, in the garage, everywhere and in every size, plus being non stick, when you cut your foam they won’t stick and get gummed up!

This will last you FOREVER but it’s so worth the investment! It’s high quality, stackable, cuttable (with those non-stick scissors) and sticks everything to anything!

Every crafter looks for a good base cardstock and I’ve been using Neenah for years, I buy it by the ream and get FedEx to cut it down for me in bulk, you won’t regret this choice.

This is perfect for scoring those card bases, for fun folds and boxes.

This is a fairly new release but this is the best invention I have found. It’s designed for use with a die cut machine but when you see how I’ve used it with my stencil and in my MISTI it will honestly change your crafting!

If you want one ink to do it all, this is it! You can use it with alcohol markers, watercolors, colored pencils, you name it, it will work! Plus its a nice strong black, dries quickly, you can heat set for extra careful crafters (like me) and it is nice and fine.
