Meet Danielle

As a kid I loved drawing and coloring, which morphed into journaling and scrapbooking in my teens and early 20’s. I started stamping when I hand stamped our save the date cards for our wedding! But it was in 2009 after my oldest son was born, and I became a stay at home mom, that I found cardmaking. Somehow while looking for scrapbooking supplies online I found Jennifer McGuire and that launched me into the world of handmade cards! Funnily though, looking back sending cards was always important to me. From a young age my mom taught me the importance of sending thank you notes, and I always looked forward to helping her write out our Christmas cards every year. My grandmom and I would send cards with letters back and forth when she moved to Florida, and we didn’t see each other as often, I always looked forward when I saw an envelope with her handwriting in the mailbox! Ironically I worked at Hallmark for a few years in my early 20’s and would spend hours looking at all the cards while I was restocking the shelves, so it seems cards were part of my destiny!

Danielle finds inspiration...

Everywhere haha! Lately for card design inspiration I find myself looking to nature -colors of the sky or ocean, flowers, leaves! For product design I find a lot of inspiration from Instagram - it might be a pattern I see, a quote, a doodle. There is just so much to soak up out there!

A typical day for Danielle...

Truthfully, there is no typical day for me! My days are spent straddling being a stay at home mom and business owner. On a normal day I’ll get up just before 6am to meditate or have some quiet time before I get the kids up. I get them up and ready, drop our boys off at school, and my daughter at preschool. I usually run some errands, post office, grocery store, bank, and then head home to squeeze in a small work tasks like answering emails, labeling packages or making some phone calls. Then I head back out around noon to pick my daughter up from preschool, at which point I switch back to mom mode. My boys and husband get home around 4, and we do homework, dinner, and sports. And then when they head up for bed I’ll squeeze in a workout and then get back to work! Once the kids are in bed, my husband will pull and pack orders, while I work on product design, make cards, write blog posts, more emails, catch up on social media, etc. We usually try to finish up working, have some tea and watch an episode of The Office before bed! It is my no means a traditional work schedule, that has required some sacrifice for sure, mostly sleep! Haha But it has been the biggest blessing to be able to be present for my family, as well as help support them doing something that I love.
